Beach Recap

Well, we are back from the beach and my heart is very sad. It went by entirely to fast! There were lots of good memories made on this trip!

After a long drive down on Wednesday we finally made it to our condo around 8:00 p.m. Our palns were to leave around 12 and be there by 6:00. However, my brother can be a bit of a slow poke at times and we did not end up leaving until 2:00. Needless to say, after a six hour drive in the car we were all starving and a little cranky. Several people recommended Jake's Grill to us and since it was just up the road from our condo, we ate there on our first night.

I set my alarm for 5:30 on Thursday morning so I could see this....

It wasn't easy getting up that early and this boy sure wasn't happy about it, but the view that greeted us as we walked down to the beach was well worth it.

Beach Time!!!

We were so proud of our cute little sandcastle. Well, we were until two grown men walked up with real shovels and built a mansion out of sand right beside it. :(

Hi Mom!

After several hours of soaking up the rays on the beach it was time to find some food. LuLu's provided us with full bellies, a few new shirts, and lots of sweet memories! P.S. if you decided to go to LuLu's do not, I repeat do NOT (Daddy) feed the birds!! They will continue to circle you as you try to enjoy your meal.

Poor Wills had to deal with all the pictures mother insisted on taking. Good thing he's used to it! ;)

Right after this picture was taken Mother Nature decided to ruin my plans of going back to the beach and soaking up the sun. She did this by taking away the sun and replacing it with rain, thunder, and lightening.

Please ignore my hair in the following pictures. We had planned to take pictures on the beach as a family and let's just say it was a tad windy.

Right after we snapped the above pictures more dark clouds rolled in and it started raining again. We decided to head back to the condo and order pizza. We sat out on the balcony and watched the thunderstorm over the beach for a while. As you can see, it got pretty bad for a second.

Thankfully, the storms cleared out and it was nothing but sweet sunshine the next day!

Around lunch time we decided to go ride go-carts! We were in the lead....

Until Sy came and passed us. We lost. I contributed it to the extra weight Willie had to drive around with him. Ha!

Beach Bound

So today around 1:30 my phone rang. It was, who else, my mother. I rolled my eyes when I saw her name come up because I was assuming she was calling to yet again bug me about my teacher license application (which by the way, is completed), or question me yet again about my job applications. However, none of the above was said.

"Hey Haley! Would you like to go to the beach tomorrow?"

"What??!!?!!?!?!"

For those of you who do not know my family, let me fill you in a little. We are planners. We do not just up and decide to go to the beach on a whim. Needless to say, I was shocked. I actually thought she was kidding.

She was not kidding. The hotel has been booked and we are leaving tomorrow at 12:00!

This vacation could not be coming at a better time. Honestly, I am fed up with this whole job search thing. I have only been a college graduate for a week and I am already tired of the "real world". I know I will find a job and it will be right where God wants me. Knowing this doesn't make waiting on it to happen any easier though. I hoping getting away for a few days will give me a better attitude and outlook on this situation.

I'm Lazy...

Okay boys and girls....lately I have been very lazy. That's right you heard me, I have turned into a lazy college student. All I want to do when I come in from a long day at the elementary school is sleep. Therefore, my blog has suffered greatly.

I have the day off from school today, it's better Monday! Today I thought I would take the opportunity to catch you up a bit. Not that I think my life is interesting enough for anyone to care, but here we go!

The goo goo dolls came for a little visit! It was a great time of relaxation with sweet friends.

Hey...wanna hear a joke? If the Goo Goo Dolls opened up for Lady Gaga what would you call that concert? You guessed it! GooGooGaGa! Hahaha.

One of my best friends, Paxton, had a recital! It was fab! I am so proud of him! He is such a good guy and he really has a passion for music! I wish I could find a good girl for him! Any takers?

Let's see...what other major life events have happened? Oh yeah! I completed my Ten-Day lesson plan and turned it in! I will never have to right another lesson plan again...and be graded on it that is. In other school related news, my portfolio is due this Friday. I have been working on it all weekend and I am basically done with it. It feels a little odd to be done with all of my school work. After I turn in my portfolio, I will be done with this semester. My last semester of college. Graduation is May 14, just around the corner. Only nine days left of student teaching...I will miss those babies so much! I hope they have learned as much from me as I have from them.

I went home this weekend to be with my family on Easter. It was a great time to relax and get back to my roots. Although Oxford is only thrity minutes from my hometown, it sometimes feels worlds away. Everything is so fast paced in Oxford, it's nice to go back home to a slower pace. I love my family so much! I really don't know what I would do without them! I am one lucky girl.

So the little fur baby has taken a liking to riding the tractor with Daddy. She is such a silly girl!

Well, I think we are all caught up now. I will try to do a better job of updating. Promise.
