Beach Bound

So today around 1:30 my phone rang. It was, who else, my mother. I rolled my eyes when I saw her name come up because I was assuming she was calling to yet again bug me about my teacher license application (which by the way, is completed), or question me yet again about my job applications. However, none of the above was said.

"Hey Haley! Would you like to go to the beach tomorrow?"

"What??!!?!!?!?!"

For those of you who do not know my family, let me fill you in a little. We are planners. We do not just up and decide to go to the beach on a whim. Needless to say, I was shocked. I actually thought she was kidding.

She was not kidding. The hotel has been booked and we are leaving tomorrow at 12:00!

This vacation could not be coming at a better time. Honestly, I am fed up with this whole job search thing. I have only been a college graduate for a week and I am already tired of the "real world". I know I will find a job and it will be right where God wants me. Knowing this doesn't make waiting on it to happen any easier though. I hoping getting away for a few days will give me a better attitude and outlook on this situation.

Bye bye Oxford....HELLO ORANGE BEACH!!!!

College=Finished....

What have I been up to lately you ask?

Oh, nothing really! Just graduated college. That's all.

Okay, in all seriousness, I am super excited to be a college graduate. I have loved my time at Ole Miss and I am every sad that it has come to an end. But, I also know that great things lie ahead and I look forward to those times. When I first enrolled at The University of Mississippi, I was so nervous. The upmost of my worries was that I would not have any friends and I was be so lonely. Well, God took care of that worry quick, fast, and in a hurry. The people in the pictures below have blessed my life in more ways than one. I really don't know how I would've survived the past two years with out them. I have become so close to these amazing people and I know we will always be friends.

Joey, thanks for being my little brother. I'm glad we have each other to keep in line.
Lp and Alicia, You two are such awesome people. Lauren, I love the way you never judge people. I admire you so much! You are a great friend. Alicia, I wish I could be as carefree as you!
Paxy, I consider you my brother. Thanks for making me smile, and letting me baby you!
Emily, I love you so much! We might fight a lot, but it's only because we love each other so much!
Shira Lani, thank you for being the sister I never had. You know me through and through and still love me!

This may sound corny, and if you aren't familiar with Ole Miss you won't understand. There is something about this campus that makes you fall in love with it. It must be something in the air, you can smell it, taste it, you can almost even feel it. Maybe my favorite quote can say it better than I can. "There is a valid distinction between The University and Ole Miss even though the separate threads are closely interwoven. The University is buildings, trees, and people. Ole Miss is mood, emotion and personality. Ole is physical, and the other is spiritual. One is tangible and the other intangible. The University is respected, but Ole Miss is loved. The University gives a diploma and regretfully terminated tenure, but one never graduated from Ole Miss."-Frank Everett

The following pictures are from dinner Friday night dinner at the Sizzler! It was so nice of Joey to plan that for us!

Graduation Saturday! The day I have waited for for a very long time!

This boy deserves a very special award for dealing with me for all these years! Some of my favorite memories from college were spent with the sweet boy! I don't think I would've made it without him. He encouraged me when I doubted myself and made me laugh when I was stressed! I love you Wills! Thanks for sticking with me!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! I know everyone says that they have the best mother in the world, but I really do! My mama has taught me so much about life and has set a great example for me. She is so loving and caring and would do anything to help anyone. She loves her job and the kids she works with each day. I am so honored to call this amazing woman my mama.

Happy Mother's Day Mama!

Farewell Fab Five

Time with the fab five is winding down and I am very sad about this. Shira and I are graduating and moving away from Oxford. :( Wills is graduating too, but he will still be living with the boys. By the way, Willie is now being called Wills by me because I want to be just like Kate. Anyways, we decided to go onto campus today and take a few pictures to remember all the fun times we have had together the past two years. These four people mean so much to me and I really do not know what I would have done without them the past two years.

Student Teaching = Completed

Today was my last official day as a student teacher. I can not believe my time with those sweet children has come to an end. It seems like just yesterday I stepped into that classroom and today it was all over. There were lots of tears through out the day today. Some shed by my students, but many more shed by Miss. Holley.

When I left the school today, I was not quite sure how I felt about being done. I was happy it was over because that means my stress level will go way down. However, I has become so attached to my kids and I was very upset about leaving them. In the end I found comfort in a Dr. Seuss....imagine that. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

I have forty three reasons to smile. I feel so blessed to have had to opportunity to work with each one of them this year. I have learned so much from them and I can only hope that they have learned just as much from me.

I want to share I few notes I received form my students today.

"Love you! Thank you for teaching me!"

"Thank you for being a great student teacher! I think we have learned a lot of things since you have been here. We will miss you very much!!!"

"We have enjoyed you teaching us! We will miss you! Have a great summer! We will remember you! We love you!!"

"I already miss you even though you are not gone."

"I will miss you Miss. Holley!"

Thanks for the precious memories boys and girls!
