Friday Confessions

Hey girls!!! We made it to Friday and you know what that means. Time to link up with Leslie for Friday Confessional!

1. I was asked to attend a Mathematics workshop today and I was not very excited about attending. I ended up have a great time and learning lots of new things I can implement into my classroom.

2. I was so pumped up about said workshop that I signed up for an intensive two week workshop this summer. Woot woot!! Math nerd alert.

3. I should totally be grading papers and working on my lesson plans right now, but instead I am blogging. Can you say addicted?

4. Have you girls seen the preview for The Vow? If not you are totally missing out. I can not wait for this movie to come out. I mean, who doesn't love a good chick flick? Even if you don't like chick flicks you would be crazy to not want to go stare at Channing Tatum for a few hours.

5. I have no major plans for this weekend and I am completely fine with that. Sometimes it's nice to spend the weekend at home in your pajamas all day.

6. My fourth graders have decided that I need to marry Tim Tebow. I have no objections to this proposal. Pun intended. What do you say Tim? Would you really want to let these sweet little kids down?

7. I ate this Monday of this week. I only ate half of it and I'm pretty sure it caused me to gain two pounds. Thanks Gigi!

Have a lovely weekend ladies. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as Tebow calls, or when pigs start flying. Whichever happens first.

Reunited

What do you get when you have a blonde, a red head, and a brunette in the same place at the same time? A good time, duh!!

I have missed these two ladies so much!! Last night we were all able to meet up in our favorite town and have dinner together. It was so nice to be back in Oxford with my old roomies.
Dinner at Chilis with my faves!

After dinner, we went to Lauren's house to see little Harp Harp!! Emily and I couldn't wait to get our hands on our little niece. I have missed this little girl!

Auntie Emily and Auntie Haley love you Harper!

And your mama loves you just a little bit too!

Lauren and her future hubby Mr. Cooper. Look how dressed up he got to meet us for the first time! Such a sweetie.

Okay, this is where this normal little blog post about having a fabulous time with my long, lost friends takes an interesting turn. Very interesting. Lauren's brother decided that Emily, the city girl, needed to get a little taste of the country life. So the obvious thing to do was take her for a little ride. I think you can tell from the picture below how much she enjoyed it!

Poor Em!

I'm fairly sure that by this point and time we were all fearing for our lives just a tad. You see we were in a deserted field that was overgrown with kudzu and Adam and Lauren were telling us about how some murderer used to live in this school bus. Oy vey!

After Emily recovered from the trauma of seeing the spooky bus in the empty field, we got ourselves into another scary sistuation. Apparently, someone had kicked the door in on this building and the law had to be called to investigate the situation.

I had a wonderful time with Lauren and Emily last night! We went through so much together last year in our little apartment. We survived Senior year at Ole Miss together, Senior practicum, Dr. Holmes, student teaching, and finding jobs. I really don't know what I would've done without them last year. These girls were my rocks. We will forever be tied together because of all the wonderful memories we made together in Oxford.

Let's take a trip down memory lane shall we.....

Shopping Bags or Picket Fence?

Hi ladies! Long time, no see. It's funny how I find time to spend hours on end reading my favorite blogs, but I never seem to find a few minutes to give a little love to my blog. Bear with me, I'm working on changing all of that. :)

Last night while I was reading Leslie's blog, I stumbled upon a new blog that I immediately fell in love with. I identified with them as soon as I read their why hello there section. Smith and Emma is a blog all about finding your way through your twenties. Here is a quote I borrowed from their blog. I thought it was kinda wonderful, it's everything I've been thinking in my head.

"You wonder where you life will go, what and who you will be. Will you get the picket fence and the man and the kids? Or will you fly solo, travel the world and have an amazing closet? Or maybe, you will figure out a way to have both?"

Currently, I am defiantly flying solo and why yes, I do have an amazing closet! I don't see a picket fence in my near future, nor do I see kids. But one day, as soon as I find the right guy, I would gladly give up my fabulous closet to get that picket fence.

Fractions, Tigers, and Elephants... OH MY!!

Hello ladies!! Today is Monday, which means only four more days until the weekend. Woohoo!! I can't wait for that three day weekend. It also means I only have to teach fractions for four more days. I can remember hating learning fractions in fourth grade. I can honestly say that now as a teacher I don't care for them any more than I did as a student.

Any who...

In case you guys haven't already heard, in which case you are probably living under a rock, tonight is the BCS National Championship. Alabama and LSU are playing. As an Ole Miss fan there is no possible way I can bring myself to cheer for LSWHO. Therefore, I believe you know who I will be cheering for.
I mean, who doesn't like elephants? Elephants are way cooler than tigers if I do say so myself. :)

I must admit that I am a teensy bit said that I will be missing watching the real housewives of beverly hills tonight. However, I am a true southern girl so I will be watching the game. Sorry Kyle Richards. In the South football comes in right under God and family.

Have a lovely night ladies!! Roll Tide!!!

P.S. Stay tuned for a fashion post coming later in the week.

Happy Birthday Dear Bloggy!!!

My little baby is one year old today. Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday I was starting this little gem.

Things have changed so much in one years time.

I was a student, now I'm the teacher. I still have trouble wrapping my brain about that one sometimes. I am truly blessed to have found a job I love! This time last year I was so nervous about starting my last semester of college. What if I don't find a school that I love working for? It is truly amazing how God works things out.

I graduated from The University of Mississippi in May. I think we were all a ball of emotions that day. I will be forever indebted to Ole Miss and all the memories and friends it blessed me with.

I became a single lady. Ending that relationship was the hardest thing I have ever done. However, I know it was for the best.

I became a teacher. I was offered a job in July and I could not have been more excited. The whole last half of that month was filled with planning, organizing, cleaning, and decorating my classroom. Who knew getting a classroom in order could be so much work.

I learned quite a few lessons. It's amazing what fourth graders can teach you. And all this time I thought I was the teacher. Ha.

I made new friends and tried to remain close to old ones.

Happy Birthday sweet Bloggy! I can't wait to see what new and exciting things this year will bring!

Pigeon Forge

I have been dying to blog about the vacation we took to Pigeon Forge, TN. However, my mother worries entirely too much and was convinced that if I blogged, tweeted, or put it on Facebook we would defiantly get robbed. So now that we are back and our house is once again occupied, she's given me the go ahead. Gotta love her.

We pilled in the car Monday morning, the day after Christmas, and headed out. Next stop, Pigeon Forge. Well I guess technically the next stop was the gas station a few hours out of town, but you get the point.

Day 1: Driving, Dinner at J.T. Hannah's, Swimming, and Cards

Please excuse the fact that I have zip makeup on. We left at 6:00 that morning.
